The Truth About Awiti
by Cp Patrick
This book was unlike any I've ever read. The author's ability to weave real events into a fiction tale was brilliant. The first part of the book was a little confusing until I realized the structure of the book's writing, but after that I was sucked in. While the book is really a collection of stories about the Atlantic slave trade, Awiti is the character that binds them all together, spanning decades of unimaginable horror upon slave boats and plantations. This book has stayed with me and I learned a lot from it.
