annaptobias 's review for:
The Water Dragon's Bride, Vol. 1
by Rei Toma
The art is incredibly delicate and pretty, but I'm still on the fence whether I want to continue the rest of this series or not. The main character Asahi is put in a very difficult situation, which is made more heartbreaking because of her age. In the new world she finds herself in, she has to deal with a lot of cruelty and suffering and darkness that would've mentally broken a person twice or three times her age. So, I may continue to read this manga if only to see how her resilience breaks through all of the obstacles that will be placed in her way. And I'm also curious about her friend Subaru, the only person who was kind to her, and what he plans to do in future volumes.
