The Killer Angels: The Classic Novel of the Civil War
by Michael Shaara
The most startling, heart-wrenching, beautifully brilliant book on war that I have ever read. By telling the story of the battle of Gettysburg from both the Union and Confederate sides, Shaara humanizes these legendary (and some infamous) actors of that fateful conflict in the most remarkable ways. Shaara's words and the deeds of these men won't soon leave my mind. Just a stunning read.
