Such gorgeous art, and I liked the story! I did have trouble identifying characters at times, because of the style a lot of them looked very similar and I didn't know who was who.
Because of the shifting timelines and focus it always took me a minute to figure out what was going on, I think it took me until the last half of the book to finally find my footing. I didn't mind this because the art was so engaging to look at.
I really enjoyed the romance and all the science fiction aspects, I just had trouble understanding the story and keeping up with the plot. There were a few character motivations that felt inconsistent to me as well, and I still don't fully understand everything about the staircase.
I think it's kind of odd that this is being advertised as a second chance romance, because the characters meet again right at the end of the book and that is that. I think for a true second chance it would need more time and build up for the characters. I didn't even know that they were together in the past until the middle of the book, and wasn't aware of Mia's motivations until the very end.
I recommend this if you like Tillie Walden's other works, or if you are looking for a queer science fiction graphic novel to read.
