Ordinary Grace by William Kent Krueger

5.0

This book surprised me. It was given to me as a gift, and when I read the back cover summary advertising the story as one of a summer in the life of some brothers in the midwest and an awakening of faith, I wasn't sure I would enjoy it. I started it on the plane ride home, and immediately found myself immersed in the world of 1961 small town Minnesota. It reminded me of so many other great coming-of-age stories, but maintained its own flavor and established its own resonance. I have some quibbles with the ending, but overall, highly recommend this book as just a "good read!"
