I fucking loved this book. Yeah, it’s cheesy and silly but that’s what made it so great! The wonder place that is Rebel Blue Ranch now has a spot firmly in my heart.

I loved Emmy and Luke. I loved them separately and I loved them together. I love when characters have relationships that make them both better but not because they change, simply because they have a chance to show it. They’re not putting up a front or pretending to be something they’re not- They’re just genuinely wonderful people. I loved their sass and banter. I loved watching them fall for each other. This book truly made me so wonderfully happy throughout the whole thing.

But my favourite characters were Amos and Teddy.

I have a hard time not getting choked up when there’s a sweet dad moment in a book and my god, Amos had me tearing up so much. He’s such a wonderful man, not afraid to show his love, or letting his people grow, and always seeing the best in everyone. He’s the kind of character who makes you feel like he’s giving you a much needed hug. And I swear if anything happens to him, I shall never recover.

Teddy was the best kind of friend. She sees Emmy for who she is, loves and accepts her differences, and goes out of her way to make her friend feel seen. She loves fiercely and is just as protective of Emmy as Emmy’s two brothers, but she does so in a way that respects Emmy as a person. She’s stable, loving, and fearless. She’s such a goddamn good friend and I love her. I genuinely cannot wait for more of her story. 💕

I’m so excited to have found a series that makes me as happy as this one did. I love knowing there’s more Rebel Blue Ranch stories to be enjoyed. I know I’m going to be sprinting to start Swift and Saddled as soon as I can.

Thank you Lyla Sage, for bringing me so much joy. From one Percy Jackson girlie to another, seeing myself in characters is such a comfort and a delight. 💕🤠
