Truthwitch
by Susan Dennard
Truthwitch was closer to a 3 1/2 stars than just three.
Truthwitch was fun to read with a good sense of humour and many likeable characters. The relationship between the two female leads was particularly enjoyable. The world they inhabit is complex with mythology, secondary concepts of racism, various cultures and a varied magic system. It was also a little predictable, unfortunately. Beyond that, the prose was mediocre and the events that actually took place in the story a little underwhelming for the most part. Some were quite good, though.
