The Myth of Normal: Trauma, Illness, and Healing in a Toxic Culture by Gabor Maté

4.0

A very comprehensive look at trauma and mental health, and all the ways society/politics/history/etc. influence a person’s mental and emotional wellbeing.

The author used a soft and approachable tone throughout the book, and that made reading feel like more of a conversation than a lecture. I appreciate that essence of coziness in a non-fiction book.

There were components that were maybe slightly redundant, but not in a way that distracted or diminished. I would recommend this highly.
