Woman, Eating
by Claire Kohda
dark
reflective
slow-paced
definitely the best vampire/ supernatural novel i've read (haven't read many, not usually my genre). i really liked the way art was entwined with the story reflecting how lyd is feeling about herself as well as the world around her. the book definitely can drag a bit in some places it is written mostly as lyd's internal dialogue, and it is often quite brooding.
overall i think it is a pretty successful meditation on loneliness, desire and yearning, and finding a way to fit in a world that was not built to suit you
