i was so excited about this book but i was honestly disappointed.
the world was really interesting, i loved the descriptions they painted such a good picture. the author also managed to make me get quite attached to some characters, but other felt quite one dimensional.
i also found the plot very predictablethe most annoying one was how obvious it was that komi was the two bladed tyrant. like from the beginning. but the nerad is the killer “twist” was a close second
one of my other strifes is how clumsy the romances were. they were so rushed, no actual development. instead of the time skips actually show us how their feelings develop so it’s actually believable! it makes it really hard to root for ships that have no substance.like seriously just show us lettle & rayan in the woods and show the feelings grow instead of having it happen off the page UGH
it’s such a shame because the author did a great job with the Obeah and the description, the characters and plot just fell flat. it felt like YA fanfiction even tho the characters are adults. even if you account for the facts elves live longer so 30 it probably more like 20, still can’t get behind it.
