**originally I was annoyed and didn't want to finish the series but I caved and am now halfway through the second book and I'm really enjoying it. A complaint I had of the first book was that the other characters felt flat but this second book has given everyone so much more depth. I love the multiple POV's and the language isn't so heavy. More adventure and Aisling is growing. So even if the first book feels a little slow, know that the second book is bursting with life and you should read it!

Original review of first book:
There were some really great parts, the general writing was so well done, the overall vibe was great but there were so many of Lir's and Aisling's conversations that felt like they ended in the middle? They hardly interacted. Like they said three sentences and didn't elaborate. Or one would do something and there was no reaction to it. There was very little playing or banter. They spent literally months together in the wilds and barely got any closer? I don't know, it's just not for me I don't think I'll be finishing the series.
