Blood on Snow by Jo Nesbø
3.0
Patti Smith's mostly flat, raspy voice is well suited to narrate this raw, edgy suspense novel. The main character Olav is a contract killer who does his job without sympathy for his targets. He is a complicated , lonely, intelligent man as well, who has a surprisingly generous and human soul. The reader slowly learns of Olav's damaged childhood and the path that leads him to his unenviable career. The snow angel tainted with blood on the cover is an apt illustration for a story that is as chilling as the cold Norwegian nights it is set in.
