Well-written and intriguing, but was not a fan of some of the darker elements.
The latter portion of the book got super gory out of nowhere, and that is not good as someone who visualizes stuff while reading.  The two major events in particular that grossed me out involved an axe and a lawn mower.  The lawn mower one was especially bad.  Ick.
