The Bee's Kiss by Barbara Cleverly

4.0

For a long time (2/3 of the book), I have no idea where Barbara Cleverly was going with the plot or the characters. But she managed to connect all the dots, unravel all the tangling threads into an ending that is not happy happy joy joy or even good triumphs over evil because Cleverly is faithful to human nature and the way as a society that we ultimately choose to behave even when we hold up values of honesty, good and truth.

Historical interesting, post WW1, almost on the verge of the great depression, London at the heart of national strikes and civil unrest. Well worth the read.
