Now You're Mine
by Morgan Bridges
I still really enjoyed this book, but I did feel like the pace slowed way down and the main conflict of the story was very quickly and easily taken care of without much buildup. A quick kidnapping/murderer showdown, and bam, done. Then we have the secondary conflict that felt glossed over which was Calista's father being murdered by Hayden, and it turned out that the father was not a horrible guy/murderer that Hayden thought he was. Which we sort of figured out last book, but I was thinking/hoping that was a red herring and he was going to end up being a bad guy and not just the politician who had a shady investor in his younger years. Also, I wasn't a big Hayden fan in this book, when I loved him in the first. He became entirely unreasonable and dictatorial on every single aspect of her life, including Hayden was just a downer for me in this book, even though there were moments where he was still hot as hell and where his obsessive/possessive behavior was enjoyable like book 1. Then there was Calista who slowly became more subdued and let Hayden dictate everything when she fought him constantly in the first book. Which I guess isn't that strange seeing as he is manipulative and possessive and their relationship isn't exactly a healthy one. Really, Harper is still the best part of this story, and I am sort of sad that we didn't get much of her in this one.
