📌“And what do you hope for?”
“Love. I hope for love.”
📌“I’ll always be here for you, Addison. You never have to be sad alone.”
📌“I close my eyes, rest my forehead to hers, and wonder what the he!! I’ve ever done to deserve her like this.”
I stand. I applaud. I thank Corinne Michaels.
This was such a special take on single parent/second chance at love and I loved it with all my heart.
You see, sometimes with single parent who is getting a second chance at love it can be tricky, specially when they truly had loved that person. I tend to find a certain imbalance in the new relationship, where the new love interest is pitted against a ghost and spends the whole book trying to prove their love is worth a chance. And while I usually like those books, it can put a strain on my heart. 😭
But that’s not what Corinne did. Oh no. She balanced that scale real quick. She had both MCs be single parents, both to have lost a spouse they loved, and both with their own set of issues to overcome. It was marvelous. It was perfect. It was swooning beginning to end.
I loved how their friendship blossomed in the midst of their undeniable attraction. I loved how the kids bonded and how we got so many cameos. My heart is so full.
This series is like leaning into a hug while watching the sun set.
