Wolf by Anna Hackett

5.0

Wolf is the first book in the Sentinel Security series, a new suspense-filled romantic series. We have seen these alpha heroes and heroines as side characters in the other series but now we finally get their long-awaited stories. We met Wolf and Lainie in the Norcross series, and Wolf’s story is one I have longed to see. His story was the perfect book to start the series off with.
CEO Lainie has crushed on Wolf, her best friend Nora’s older brother, all her life. She tries to avoid him at all costs until she starts to receive disturbing death threats and her company’s websites are being attacked. She has sworn off men but having Wolf pretend to be her boyfriend makes her want to reconsider her decision.
Former SEAL and CIA agent Nick “Wolf” now works at Sentinel Security. He has spent years ignoring his attraction for Lainie but once he discovers she is being threatened, he will do whatever it takes to keep her safe.
The connection and attraction between Wolf and Lainie were strong and full of spice. I loved seeing the bossy over-protective Wolf try to leave the fierce and independent Lainie out of the case. Lainie was not one to stand down and let someone else solve her problems. They made the perfect couple.
I was so excited to see the Sentinel Security team finally get their own series. I always love getting to revisit with characters and since the Norcross and the Sentinel Security teams have worked together on a lot of cases you never know who will make an appearance. I highly recommend this book and cannot wait for the next book which will be Hades.

I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
