That One Moment by Amy Daws

4.0

That One Moment by Amy Daws is about Hayden and Vi. Hayden is recovering from an attempted suicide and the everlasting effects of depression from life events. Vi is just trying to get a life without her over protective, and famous, brothers ruining everything.

Many things have happened to Hayden that have brought him to his knees. The death of a beloved sister and his feelings about that death cause him to spin out of control. He doesn’t know what to do with his feelings. After bumping into each other, Hayden and Vi have an instant attraction but both decide to let it go. Hayden believes he is no in a place for a relationship and Vi just got out of a relationship with a cheating boyfriend. Her brothers didn’t help her guy situation while she was living at home so Vi made a choice for herself and moved out on her own. She is happy in her own place while still being able to see her father and brothers.

Hayden and Vi spend the two weeks after their first “meeting” dreaming about the other. They soon discover that they have a mutual friend in Leslie and Theo. At a charity function, Vi and Hayden acknowledge their attraction and begin talking.

Hayden is a deep feeling person, who has yet to control those feelings and emotions. He soon discovers that “Being angry or sad or upset doesn’t feel like the end when you have that one person in your life who wants to love you through it.”

Vi is a strong woman, especially when it comes to standing up to her brothers. She is a loving caring person. She really is a great friend to have.
“This is your journey and I can’t walk it for you…but I hope you know you don’t have to fight alone.”
Learning to love is the common theme in this book and the self discovery of the characters make this book one I will recommend. While this is book 2 in the series, it is able to be read as a standalone. I did not read book one (yet) and also hope that Vi’s brothers, all four of them, get their own stories!! What fun that would be! 4 stars for this awesome story!
