What a joy it has been to follow the lives of these cats for years, and now to get a more in depth look at Courtney’s experience caring for them. Her voice came through so clearly, and I often heard her voice as the one reading it inside my head. I imagine that this is what people feel like reading celebrity memoirs, where it was super neat and nostalgic to read more about the cats and colonies and situations that we witnessed over the years. I appreciated the exploration health and mental health, though some of the parts didn’t speak to me as much (because I too was a teenage girl and had body issues because of you know, everything, so it wasn’t anything radical). I absolutely loved the look into the way TikTok changed everything, and how it was quite literally so lucky??? Like, lives have been irrevocably changed for the better because of success on this app, because the algorithm said so?? I think this will be a very beautiful time capsule, not only for the people who experienced these events in real time, but also as we look backwards to the way social media, TikTok specifically, became a livelihood for so many.
