I read the book when I was in a college class and thought it was great-wondered why I hadn't picked it up when I was younger. Fast forward to student teaching a few years later. Holy moly, I obviously hadn't picked up on all the swearing the first time around. I guess my pauses at first let the 5th graders onto me. Yes, come up with some substitution words before you read to a youngster. haha.
