The Golden Specific by S.E. Grove

4.0

This book is the sequel to the Glass Sentence. I enjoyed it as it explains what happened to Sophia's parents and introduces new elements to the plot.

It is not a pure adventure story like the first book but has adventure and political intrigue, with a murder investigation to make things difficult for our young intrepid explorers/adventurers.

It also provides a theory for what caused time to be different across different locations, the very premise for this series.

This book is not a standalone novel like the first book. The story continues in book 3.

My only complaint is Shadrach, Sophia's uncle, doesn't really have much of a role in this novel except as a plot device. Hopefully, he has a more important role in the third book.
