Rock Redemption by Nalini Singh

4.0

I loved the hint of tension we saw between Kit and Noah in [b:Rock Addiction|22839846|Rock Addiction (Rock Kiss, #1)|Nalini Singh|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1408109387s/22839846.jpg|42396239], and I'll admit I was surprised when Nalini Singh decided to veer away from the band to focus on Charlie's story in [b:Rock Hard|23514316|Rock Hard (Rock Kiss, #2)|Nalini Singh|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1423588812s/23514316.jpg|43117391](I wanted to read Charlie's story, I just didn't think it would be the second full-length novel in the series is all). I was happy when I heard that we would finally find out what happened between Noah and Kit.

Turns out, Noah and Kit were really good friends, with really great chemistry. Noah would never let things go too far between them always finding ways to push Kit away when it seemed like they were. With Noah being known to never having a problem getting women into his bed, it's pretty easy to figure out how he pushes Kit away. At that point she'd had enough and even though she was still friends with the rest of the band, she was determined to get over her feelings for Noah.

But when Noah calls Kit one night literally on the verge of doing something potentially fatal, Kit can't turn her back on him.

Noah is definitely fighting some tough demons. But I loved the relationship between him and Kit. It's rather sweet, I liked that they have an established friendship prior to the series starting even though they are going through a rough spot when the story begins. I guess you could say this was a friends-to-lovers storyline. I think the rebuilding of trust and friendship between the two took precedence over the romantic elements in the story. It was a slow-burn kind of romance.

I feel like with each book, the issues that our hero / heroine have to work through are getting tougher and tougher. Honestly, Charlie's past rather surprised me and while it didn't take too much thought to discern what about Noah's past haunts him, the slow build up until we actually learn all the details is rough at times. Based on events in Rock Redemption, I assume this trend will continue on in Abe's book whenever that might be.

Overall, this is another good one from Nalini Singh. She doesn't disappoint.
