The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon

4.0

A fascinating and somewhat alien view of everyday life from the perspective of someone who thinks and sees the world quite differently from me.

The story was quite sad in places, often because of the frustrating way people around the protagonist seemed to be unwilling to even try and understand or communicate effectively with him.

I was put off by a few aspects of the writing, such as frequent rambling irrelevant descriptions (often patronising or overly definite), and the constant use of "and then". But I was impressed by the quality of the audiobook version, which had several characters voiced by different actors.
