A Little Life
by Hanya Yanagihara
I can’t give this book a rating- at least not yet. But I do not recommend it to anyone.
The second I started this book I was desperate to finish it. There are moments so excruciating and twisted it made me feel I’ll. And while this has got to be one of the best written books I’ve read in a while, there still are moments that feel too far fetched and out of character I found myself re-reading pages at a time so see if I missed that it’s an imaginary dream sequence.
Again, I love the way this is written with constantly changing perspectives. I also absolutely adore some of the characters and how honest they are. When something good finally happened I found it incredibly hard to keep reading because I knew the relief was short lived. I will miss those tiny happy moments and the characters I feel like I know. It’s difficult to part with them.
This book will haunt me.
