I Believe in a Thing Called Love by Maurene Goo

3.0

OK SO I BASICALLY LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS BOOK EXCEPT FOR THE MAIN FEMALE CHARACTER AND "THE LIST". I was originally going to give this book a 3.5 stars but the main character was so aggravating and manipulative, I just don't like her at all and ruined my reading experience. Not just that, she was also given a very inconsistent personality and character, she's portrayed to be this really sweet and kind girl but she can also manipulate people she loves (just like manipulating Luca in a way she knows will result badly for him and their relationship) without second thoughts? Like how tf. The author dragged that ending with a more vexing moment that the resolution was just...eh. I was hoping for Luca to not forgive her and it would have been more realistic, like would you actually get together with someone who almost killed you 3 times? In that way maybe, Desi will actually learn how actions can severely affect something and being a manipulative douchecanoe to someone you love won't get you anywhere good. It was funny, entertaining, cute, the writing was good, but omg the main character was just UGH
