Farrah! This is the second book of hers I read, and I absolutely LOVED it. I love the depth she gives her characters, the little personality quirks - The Princess and the Frog love - and the feelings and emotions she injects into every aspect of the book. I enjoyed how this story developed. The fake dating trope is, I think, one of my favorite romance tropes. What I loved best is how the fake dating came about. The knee-jerk response from Taylor that started the whole sitch was totally on point with her personality. By the way, I freaking love these strong women that Farrah wrote with Samiah, Taylor, and London. I loved the story of how the three came together and I loved it even more seeing so much of them in this book. They weren't a passing reference or a vague thought. They were in it. In the story. Making choices and affecting the plot. I can't f*ing wait to read London's book. I have a feeling she'll be my favorite out of the three strong, badass women.
I think my favorite part of this book is "the breakup." So far, in the romances I've read, "the breakup" is gut wrenching and just utterly destroys me (yet I keep going back for more but that's beside the point), and seems to work as a counterbalance to all the high highs of the book. This book though, felt so much smoother. I loved the buildup and the fact that things weren't too emotionally charged, and I liked that "the breakup" part didn't f*ing destroy me. I didn't cry during that part! I cried during other, more sentimental parts of the book, though, so have your tissue box at the ready. I enjoyed how everything was wrapped up; the part with "my whole heart" aaaah. I totally melted.
I also recommend reading the Acknowledgements. It's very sweet and it totally made me ugly cry. I'm crying just thinking about it. Read it! Read the book too! 😊
