So Long and Thanks for All the Fish is probably the most traditionally grounded of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series so far. This is probably because 90% of the story takes place on a familiar Earth, which is easier to comprehended, but also surprising seeing as Earth was demolished and that as a reader I can be familiar with some thing that no longer really exists.

I am trying not to get to sad about almost being through this series. There were so many of those little moments of charm in this book that I think I am always going to fondly remember. The bit about the rain, the bit about the biscuits, the bit about the lady in the plane. I also love all the small connecting parts to previous books and it was nice to finally see Arthur get some control back over his own destiny.

The only thing that kept this from being a higher rating is that there were still some things about this book that didn't feel complete to me, like I was missing pages. Although I liked the introduction of Fenchurch as a character, I think that more could have been put into establishing her personality and her relationship with Arthur. Also the lack of Zaphod and Trillian threw me for a bit of a loop as I kept expecting them to crop up at some point, that probably could have used a better explanation.
