FUCKING HELL?!

Honestly… that’s all I have to say.

What genre is this? Thriller? Whatever, I ate that shit up.  Inhaled it.
As someone who mostly reads dark romance, I like me some death and gore and whatevs, so I thought I’d dip my toes into some Freida McFadden.

Trisha is a fascinating person… I’m still trying to figure her out, I loved her as a character though.

Ethan I had my suspicions about from the beginning, I just didn’t know what my suspicions were.

And Adrianne… what a fucking icon. That woman is brilliant in so many ways, shes a sassy psychotherapist, she’s funny, she’s brave, she’s straight to the point and most of all she has a stunning house in the middle of butt fuck no where.

I also really enjoyed the psychology aspect of this book. As someone who is studying psychology I appreciated the correlations to study’s that have genuinely happened in the past.
Also the fact the diagnosis of ‘psychopath’ wasn’t overused. Oh my god it made me so happy that Adrianne (Freida) actually talked us through the diagnosis of her patients rather than throwing around simple labels.
This was also done in a way that wasn’t boring, but then I love psychology so I’ll speak for myself only here.

I write, and I LOVE me a plot twist, I’m addicted to them, so naturally I thought I’d be able to spot them… WELP not this one.
Admittedly, for it to be a really good plot twist I’d of liked a few more clues, it’s tip toeing on the edge of plot twist and plot hole; but the clues are still there and it is still a proper slap round the brain.

Favourite quote:
‘My mother always told me, for two people to keep a secret, one of them has to be dead.’
