The Final Six by Alexandra Monir

4.0

Hard to read this without comparing it to last year's [b:Dare Mighty Things|29523636|Dare Mighty Things|Heather Kaczynski|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1486704232s/29523636.jpg|49820325] which I rated 5 stars. This had a lot of the same things I liked, I guess I'm a sucker for space training camps. I liked the characters of Naomi and Leo, and especially seeing the differences between them. It was interesting being in a near-apocalyptic time where half the world is underwater and there are regular earthquakes and tsunamis. It was also paced well and was a very quick read.

What I didn't like were some typical YA problems, where it was too convenient and also unrealistic at times, and I could have done without the romance. Leo and Naomi both have a POV and their voices weren't really that different making it hard to distinguish whose chapter it was. I also would have liked to see a little bit more before it ended.
