Motion of Puppets
by Keith Donohue
Beautifully written, with depth and characters that I loved from the beginning. This book reads so smoothly and well, and is captivating from the first line. I am in love with the storyline, the character arc, and the shadowy places that Donohue has created in his writing.
I haven't loved a piece of fiction this much in a very long time, and am thoroughly impressed to find an author who delivered on all expectations of this novel. A truly beautiful modern retelling of Orpheus and Eurydice with captivating twists and scenes pushed to the threshold of horror without taking away from the suspense of the story.
I will definitely be reading more Donohue in the future.
