This is r/insane parents as a book.
For such a short book and an opening that feels pleasant enough boy does it get grim fast. I’m horrified, disgusted, disturbed, petrified and more, but that is what makes it such a great horror novella.
The main reason it’s not a 5 is I thought it was fairly predictable, I guessed most of the “twists” and I had a feeling it was only gonna have one of two endings and it was one of them.
