I finished this book in all of one single day…

I loved Skylar and I loved Weston. Skylar reminds me a lot of me actually and reading this was really fun.

Skylar is talented, capable, intelligent, and fiery.  the hard moments and the struggling made reading her story so much fun and so much more in depth.

Weston Belmont is my favorite male character in all Elsie Silvers books so far. He is outgoing, a phenomenal fun dad, and someone who just loves everyone around him. He protects and cares for Skylar through this book in a way that feels as though he just knew it was her. And that’s my favorite kind. He beat up her dad and he was just willing to scrap and protect his people in a way that doesn’t usually happen outside of fantasy books.

A genre I’m quickly learning to love (maybe because it strikes home for me a little) is when the FMC is avoidant and the MMC is all in and is convincing her/ waiting for her to figure it out.

The side characters are so easy to love as well, the kids especially. Ollie is so gentle and perfect, and Emmy is a spitfire and just reading about West with them is like reading abt the perfect husband and father. This book is funny that way.

I really loved how the book just picked up and moved, we saw Skylar is the dumpster and we saw her rise and return and rise anew. The plot was fun while touching serious topics. I am really excited to read book 3!
