Let's Talk about From Hell by Mallory Fox.

To me, this story is a mashup of Dr. Jeykll and Mr. Hyde as well as the the nightmare that is Jack the Ripper.

Synopsis:
What would you do if you survive an attack from the Ripper.  This is the conundrum that Laine has to face every day.  One thing that she is sure of, she will never be a victim again.  She will find the Ripper and end him before he comes back to finish the job.  But when she runs into an old flame that left her wanting, Laine's life is turned upside down.

Jaxon knows that coming back home was a bad idea but there is no reason why she would come back home, so no harm no foul right?  Wrong.  When he finds her standing in his space, he knows that it is only a matter of time until his worst kept secret is brought to light.  Yet, he can't seem to stay away and the need to protect her at all costs is driving him closer and closer to the edge.

Review:
I enjoyed the fuck out of this book.  I prefer plot with my spice and this book did not disappoint!  For me, the build up allowed the reader to feel that anxious energy that Laine felt throughout the story as she tried to navigate and understand what was going on around her.  Both main characters were morally grey throughout the story but still loveable.  I was invested in their future, both individually and together.  The further along in the story that you got, the more that Fox developed each character.  The spice level was on point and it was throughout the novel.  Please check trigger warnings.
