This book really got to me. I absolutely love how Abby's books consistently deal with difficult, heavy topics without feeling heavy-handed or like a PSA. Jacob's anxiety is woven so beautifully into this book, and the tenderness with which Abby, and our amazing protagonist Briana, approach Jacob is really heartwarming. I loved the exploration of how first impressions are not always correct, how life can feel like you've hit a dead end and can never move forward again, and what it means to have a high quality of life. I felt so attached to Briana and Jacob - Abby really wrote two good-hearted, complicated people who want to be there for each other and their friends so badly. I found myself in tears at some points because I was just so moved by Abby's depictions of love and hope and devastation. I am a forever Abby stan and am slowly working my way through her books, and this might have been my favorite of hers so far :)
