Flynn King man the next brother on the chopping block!
This one is a college romance and I'm surprisingly here for it.  It's getting increasingly more difficult to relate to the younger characters. Damn that makes me feel old. anyway!
Flynn has a 2 week rule with women...get out before feelings get involved. That is until an unruly little donkey goes tearing across the campus leading him right to Tempest.
Tempest with her nose in a book (girl after my own heart). Tempest is hiding scared. Scared her secret would come out...any one of her secrets.  Could it be her best selling romance novel, her severe anxiety, or the baby donkey she is hiding in her sorority house?!
She intrigues Flynn and when he starts saying all the smart things in their Shakespeare class...it is over for her. Love is inevitable.
Seeing the two very different family dynamics for our main characters was interesting.  Flynn has 7 siblings and they all come running with one text and protect each other no questions. Her family is a bit more standoffish. She has 4 sisters and the pressure their mother puts on them is soul crushing.  Tempest has her Abuela and her Tio, they seem to be the only ones that see her for her. No little demeaning comments...nothing but support.  When one of her sisters exposes her secret to the world I was shocked!
These are feel good books. There are lots of emotions but the big misunderstanding that pulls the characters apart is nowhere to be seen.  They talk to each other and have clear communication. I also appreciate the inclusiveness of these books too.  Just because a woman doesn't fit into society's standard of beauty doesn't mean she isn't beautiful inside and out!
