Power of Love by Celine Dion

"Love is...everything."

OH. MY. GOD!! This book...this book lived up to all the hype and you cannot even begin to understand how happy I am right now. From the first page, I was HOOKED. I could not stop reading, I literally spent the whole day just reading this book and let me tell you, this book is long! My kindle said it finished at 670 pages which is over 100 more pages than what is indicated on Amazon but I don't even care.

I've read many of Kristen Ashley's books and I've loved them all. But for some reason, I never really planned on reading her fantasy or paranormal series. If I'm being completely honest, the covers just didn't catch my attention. But also, I didn't think I would like it. I love her MC romance and her other series but fantasy? Yeah I wasn't sure she could do it. Well I'm here to say:

Why did I ever doubt her?! It wasn't until recently that I kept seeing this series show up on my newsfeed and once again hearing so much praise that I decided I'd give this series a chance. I need to thank ever single one of my Goodreads friends who has read this and showed so much enthusiasm for the series because without you I would have been the moron to never read this book.

So, now that we've got that out of the way onto the actual story.

Finnie has always been one to live life to the fullest, something she got from her parents. But sadly, they died when she was young and she's missed them every day since. So when she finds out that there is an alternate world where everyone has a twin, where twin copies of her parens live, she jumps at the offer to go. Little does she know that the world she gets switched into is one unlike anything she's ever imagined. And in this world, apparently she is a princess who is getting married to a scary ass Viking. She hardly gets a moment to breathe in the air before she whisked away to marry this guy who dislikes Finnie for reasons unknown to her. And thus, begins their story.

I am so in love with the world that Kristen Ashley has created! It is unlike anything I've ever read and it literally felt like that world was becoming alive through her words. As I mentioned before, this book is super long and it has all of the classic KA writing style that I both love and hate. I LOVE KA writing but the amount of details and run-on sentences sometimes caused my eyes to glaze over and lose interest just a little bit. But luckily this book always seemed to have something going on and there was never a dull moment. I've read some of KA published books and I've got to say, I prefer her self-publsihed books 1000x's more.

Frey is one of my favorite kind of KA Alpha Male but that's not to say he didn't piss me off at times. Oh boy, did he. Frey is not perfect and he does some stuff that made me want to punch him. I don't always agree with his decisions but I also had to take in the fact that they're both from different worlds, and as such, live by different rules. Things that don't fly in our world are quite the opposite in his. They had to learn each other's boundaries and it took time but eventually they get on track and I was swooning over Frey like crazy.

"I'll never stop loving you, my winter bride. Not ever. You, everything about you is beyond my wildest dreams."

Action, romance, death, and of course some comic relief, this book has a little bit of everything that makes a perfect book. I'm so excited to continue with this series and I already know the moment I finish this review I'm going to jump to read the second book. I'm running on a KA high right now and I can only pray that I'll be on it for the remainder of the series.
