Shadow Spell is a reread for me as it’s one of my favorites by Nora Roberts. It’s book two in the Cousins O’Dwyer trilogy which is set in Ireland and is about three cousins who are witches. Shadow Spell focuses on Connor, a falconer by day who finds himself in love with Meara Quinn. Meara is a lifelong friend, but they’ve only just discovered feelings for one another. In the meantime, the witches are fighting a demon who wants to k•ll them all.
I love this series, especially book two. The characters are amazing, the world building is excellent, and the plot is strong. The story is divided between Connor and Meara’s romance and the battle against Cabhan, the demon who wants to destroy them. If you like witchy tales with a little romance thrown in, then this series is for you. It makes me wish I could be a witch. I do recommend reading the series in order so you know what’s going on from the start. There’s even history in the story of the ancestors of Connor, his sister, and their cousin which is fascinating to read.
I highly recommend the whole Cousins O’Dwyer trilogy. Read it and let me know what you think - I’d love to discuss.
