Ugly Love
by Colleen Hoover
First read:
"Love isn't always pretty, Tate.
Sometimes you spend all your time
hoping it'll eventually be
something different.
Something better.
Then,
before you know it,
you're back to square one,
and you lost your heart
somewhere
along
the
way."
My heart has been hurting since the beginning of this book until the second to last chapter. It is such a satisfying story that I'd go read it again and have my heart break and hurt for a million times.
Tate is never the character you would hate because of some moody, bratty, typical main MC. She'll be the character you'll love and share the heartbreak with.
Miles . . . his past is a hard one and is very understandable. Even through his "rules", you can already tell how he was slowly breaking for her. Unto a new shell, broken as it is, it would be for his present and future and not for his past.
I love that this book never went around the courting for a long time and just focused on both the main MC's emotional issues. I hate when a book is half a heartbreak and half the courting. I know they'd end up together just make my heart hurting more and just have the last chapter of them finally reconciling or whatever.
