Mina is single minded and focused. She must win the student film competition, get into USC, and leave New York behind. She has a great best friend and a great sister, but her parents are a nightmare, with constant verbal abuse. So USC is her way out. But no one has won this film competition without having a celebrity cameo and they just don't know anyone. Enter Emmitt. He's an indie film star, about to break into the main stream with a new movie filming soon and he's at Mina's school to study the American high school experience. The only problem is that he's a massive jerk. But if Mina wants to win this competition, she'll have to do whatever it takes to get him to be in their film.

I just happened to get another ARC that comes out a week before this one, If You Change Your Mind by Robbie Webber. It's about a high school filmmaker who wants to get into USC.
