Night Lunch by Eric Fan

4.0

When the sun falls, a strange cook begins to create fantastic meals for all the street animals amid a dreamy city. A small mouse, intimidated by the owl chef, avoids the meals (for fear, likely, of becoming a meal himself) until the owl extends an invitation. When finished, the restaurant disappears as the sun rises.

Very moody, very cozy. With lilting rhymes and an atmospheric slice-of-life plot, Fan's book makes for a great book to wind down with.
