This book served as a nice conclusion to the Hunger Games trilogy. I didn't absolutely adore it, as I thought I would, but it was still a great read. Nobody can deny how powerful it is. It's raw, it's moving and it gives you an insight on the dynamics of a dystopic system that starts resembling our own reality. The cruelty to which both the Capitol and the rebels resort gives us an idea of the similarities of these opposing sides of the war. And, in the midst of it, is a young girl who has been forced to grow up too fast and be the face of a revolution. One that is necessary, but also leaves tragedy and death in its way. It shows us how easy it is to repeat patterns and how good and evil are two sides of the same coin (no pun intended hehe). Sometimes one can get lost in the fight for change and end up acting like the enemy. Suzanne Collins is a genius at interweaving Katniss' story with the fate of an agonising country.
I must also say that Finnick deserved better. I wanted him and Annie to be happy forever and, in turn, we get a death that is not mourned nearly enough in the novelðŸ˜ðŸ˜
