Obsessed. I watched the show first and the book makes me appreciate it so much more. Having everything in first person really shows us how Joe’s mind works and by the end you can almost guess what his inner dialogue is going to say. The use of run-on sentences to show when his thoughts are spiraling was so effective. I also thought that Beck’s character was given way more depth in the book than it was in the show, which I appreciated. I didn’t intend to make this entire review a compare/contrast with the show, but that’s just where my mind was the entire time I was reading it. Fast-paced and addictive, highly recommend!
