Hey Rube: Blood Sport, the Bush Doctrine & the Downward Spiral of Dumbness: Modern History from the Sports Desk by Hunter S. Thompson, John A. Walsh

0.75

Ho ho.

It was about three books deep into the assorted writings of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson that I started to wonder whether his was a genius that was lost on me.

Perhaps the atavistic ramblings from a dedicated sports column were never meant to be what I would define as essential, but who am I to say. A relatively sober, queer letter carrier so far North that the gaping maw of metropolis exhales its exhaust onto my face and calls it "temporal potpourri".

I was looking forward to the modern history angle offered within, but I just could not bring myself to care about sports.

Whatever insights are buried within this tome would require a jackhammer and excavation crews way beyond my paygrade or interest-level.
