I loved dune and i loved even more dune messiah. Children of dune was a book i stopped and restarted many times.
After like a year and a half i’ve finally finished it.  I did like it less than the first two bec of its slow start and confusing paragraphs but the last 100 pages the plot and the events and reveals made me like it more and more

so i think Dune messiah > Dune > Children of dune

Alia’s death was so saddening just like paul’s second death i realized he might not be dead when they decided to fake leto’s death i thought with all those lives it’s obv something that could have happened to paul in some weird coincidence
