I really enjoyed reading this book. At first the main character got on my nerves but seeing everything come crashing down made me have sympathy for her. I enjoyed the relationship she had with her friends. The texts were a great touch. I like that mental health and therapy were apart of the story. It shows how easy things can just slip out of control with all the pressures Black women face in life. I really liked reading about Queenie’s relationship with her family particularly around her mental health issues. I’m pleased with how the book ended and I appreciate the discussion questions in the back.
