Pressure Point
by Claire Hastings
A very enjoyable second book in the Atlanta Rising series. Liam and Avery are both fabulously flawed characters, both of them have insecurities that keep them feeling like enough. Together they make each other better, stronger and more confident because they can be themselves and relax in a safe zone.
Watching these two slowly discover who they are and become comfortable and confident was a fun journey with just a small amount of angst. The faux family Liam has with his coach Gunnar, Gunnar’s daughter Talia, and Team owner/Gunnar’s girlfriend Felicity is supportive and engaging. These characters are great to see more of after book 1.
I’m not a huge fan of soccer, but the two books in this series have just enough to be a sports romance, but not overwhelm or confuse someone who isn’t a huge soccer or sports fan. The characters are engaging and relatable, and interact with several of the characters from the first book. I am interested to see if there will be a book 3 - my hope is yes, and it will be Britt ‘Cowboy’ Calhoun and Theo the sports reporter.
I received an ARC from Hidden Gems and the author, and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
