By Frenzy I Ruin by Cora Reilly
2.0

I so wanted to love this book. The hype, the wait, the anticipation. Release day came and I bought it and finished it the next day and afterwards felt… extremely let down.
Bottom line, it was just a okay read. The Battista storyline was the first time I genuinely thought Cora was making the story up as she went instead of the careful crafting she’s been previously known for. I just couldn’t understand why she would make Aurora such a doormat. I also didn’t really care for Cora reusing the Danilo/Sophia storyline where Aurora/Sophia had a sexual encounter with a drunk Nevio/Danilo. Nevio was forgiven too easily and too quickly, especially for abandoning his child.

Unlike most of her previous books, I don’t think this will be a reread for me. Still will be following her future releases and super excited for Massimo and Carlotta’s story as well as Alessio and Isa.
