Ruby and River begin as hate to love, but with so much chemistry that nobody’s buying it. They are a super compatible pair in absolute denial, with commitment issues to work through on both sides. Ruby has never really had anyone looking out for her, or putting her first, and she finds she likes it more than she expected. I didn’t love the third act conflict, but I think Laura Pavlov did a good job of turning it around and making me swoon. Over all I enjoyed this one, but I didn’t connect to the romance quite as much as book one.

I’m growing very attached to the found family and quirky characters of Magnolia Falls! Through their text conversations and banter we get to know the differing personalities of each of the friends in the group, and it makes me excited for the next books and what’s to come! I have a feeling I’m going to really love book 3, Forbidden King!
