Odd Boy Out: Young Albert Einstein by Don Brown

4.0

I really appreciated how the book focused on the struggle of little Albert Einstein, how hard it was for him to fit in, his weaknesses and faults, but how ultimately he became one of the most brilliant scientists ever. There's a lot of humanity in this book and I think it is admirable to brush a complex picture of such a great man, instead of only giving weight to the more heroic aspects. All in all maybe more relatable and inspiring.

The illustrations are very fine, in particular it was pretty stunning how the likeness of the adult Einstein was captured in the expressive pictures of the young boy Einstein.
