This is my second book by Liz Nugent, and while I don't think it quite matches up to Lying in Wait, it was still an extraordinary read that took me on an emotional rollercoaster. Nugent's characters are so intricately crafted that my feelings towards them were all over the place. The main character was a complete narcissist, and although I couldn't help but feel empathetic towards her at times (I blame being an empath), but then she constantly surprised me with her atrocious actions.

Although the book is a work of fiction, it touches on some important and relevant topics, such as the topic of abortion and a woman's right (or lack there of) to choose what happens to her body, attitudes towards homosexuality, and how people with disabilities or who look different are perceived. These themes were woven seamlessly into the story and gave it an added layer of depth.

While the plot did become a bit implausible at times, I was still compelled to keep reading, eagerly wanting to find out what would happen next. Despite any minor issues, the book was a fantastic read, leaving me eager to explore more of Nugent's works.
